| History of Lighthouse Word Church Pastors George and Carol Kearns began a local Bible study in 1981 in Chiefland, Florida that would meet the needs of people who were longing to know how to live a truly victorious life, based solidly on the authority of God's Word. In the beginning, services were held in what was a skating rink, which had been converted into Carol's School of Dance. There were 5 people in attendance at that first service. The building was renovated and housed Lighthouse Word Church until 2003 when they broke ground for their new facility. The Kearns graduated from Zoe Bible College in 1985 with their Master's Degree. The blessings of God have been apparent during every phase of the church's growth. Lighthouse Word Church now has 3 associate ministers who minister with excellence. The vision that was given in the beginning to the Kearns has become a reality. A ministry to all ages based on the church motto, "Whatever the cost, we're reaching the lost." Presently the church ministers not only locally but has ongoing missions to over 20 countries. Hopefully, our church will never be a "finished product", but will continue to grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is truly something for everyone at Lighthouse Word Church. As Pastor George likes to say, " Give us a year of your life and God will change you and your life!"
